Season 2 (non spoiler): Season 1 was exceptional… season 2 is like the end of House of Cards.

Finale episode As bad as Game of Thrones for me. Problem is the fall off from the penultimate episode which was genius. Only worse ending would have been for Greg to become CEO. Once I saw the obvious setup to the “surprise” terrible ending (“you’re a clumsy interloper”) with 30 min left, I turned it off. It’s no Breaking Bad or Sopranos finale but not as bad as Dexter ending, which is saying something I guess.

It took watching it twice to realize that it’s far better than critics gave it credit for. The writer interwove several complicated plot threads pretty seamlessly. At least like a Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels…. The acting is deceptively good even from rookies like Common and Keys. Piven was the clear standout, showing his range in contrast to his Entourage role. My only gripe was the way it ended with Ryan Reynolds in the ICU. Out of the implausibilities, his access was the most implausible. .

This is the plot that people are raving about? An old friend from the hood shows up suddenly and asks for a title shot from the retired champ. My date and I both couldn’t stomach it on ITunes in one sitting. Next day I almost “got through it “ by playing in the background making breakfast, but shut it off 3/4 way in. Geez. Stallone, who is obviously not involved here, has been a storytelling genius because he keeps it raw and simple. Like modern bizarro take on Black-ploitation with all the recent tropes: Tyson (black boxer from prison), Maywether Jr. . At least they locked down their critic reviews. The slo-mo boxing was cool but was only in the opening scene?

Better than JW3. IMO, JW1 >JW2 >JW4>JW3. It had its moments for sure. Second half was better than first half. They could’ve cut out 45 min at least. Some weird devices in jW4 hampered it, much like JW3. Fat guy didn’t move like a fat guy physics wise. Blind guy sometimes acted like a blind guy sometimes not.

First three seasons 4.5 stars. Last season 2 stars. Won’t give it away but Ruth and Jonah ruined it for me. Not believable, over the top stuff. Endings like this and GOT show why it’s so hard to end a show like the Sopranos.

Definitely decent production budget but I presume the writers got lazy or underpaid and were mailing it in. Cheesy story stolen from bunch of movies. No more human component to Jack- he’s less Harrison Ford from Clear and Present Danger and more Rambo meets James Bond. Seasons 1 and 2 were great by comparison because there was more character development to offset any plot tropes.

How can you not watch a show with a world we already love and $400m+ production budget on 8 episodes? Granted I expect the reviews will be mixed from virgins aka Tolkienites? PS. If one has saved oneself for Comic Con, does it make one’s review more valid lol? Edit: I upgraded my rating after seeing the stupid unfair controversy. Ratings on House of The Dragon have been favorable and they repurpose the GoT opening credits and the special effects look barely HD. Meanwhile, character dev for RoP is already coming along by the second episode. Galadriel is super. I could do without Elrond. Bunch of Easter eggs. Virgins should watch the show and get some action, not in that order :)

Let’s put how bad this movie is in perspective. By consensus it scores worse than genre movies Columbiana and Barb Wire, which have far worse actors and actresses. On the plus side, it was marginally better than the live-action Aeon Flux (sorry Charlize). The script matters! As punishment, the people involved should be made to watch La Femme Nikita, Wonder Woman (first movie), and first John Wick.

Meh. Al Pacino is relatively good.
