Cliff Judge

So it's a story about the talented son of a man who was so career obsessed that he abandoned the family and learning what that makes you, and there is an inevitable final confrontation and that's all well and good. But the pull is that there is going to be some sci fi stuff in here. But they just drop all of that stuff at the end. No explanation for what really caused the power surges that were an existential threat, no reason why they needed to send a crew out there, no explanation for why Space Force was doing what it was doing. Nothing was tied together at all. So Brad Pitts character actually risks his life and murders to go to the end of the solar system for closure with his dad, but we're just supposed to be like, ah whatever, plots, who needs them?
