I like this man's style. He is taking to task all those "Marxists" who want to project a kind of necessary history, a rational line of march towards Socialism, arguing that this was Marx' vision. It wasn't. It would help if the original French title had been more accurately translated into English. "Marx l'Intemperitif" means "Marx the Untimely". That is, not necessarily for anybody's times; but, trying to break in if there is a rupture in the apparent temporality marking time at any particular historical moment. Since I am writing this in May 2020, here is a real rent in the fabric of our times. Room, then, for the spectre to do a bit of serious haunting.
