This movie is not about "reverse racism" (which doesn't exist) nor black on black racism" (which also doesn't exist) as some ignorant viewers have rated on other sites. This movie is about greed, mental illness from colonization and self-hate. It is a Corky kind of movie but the production is great. They go in and out of recent and old memories pretty creative to tie in recent behaviors. This black couple was interestingly divided because one would do anything to have power, money, and position while the other spouse could not believe how these things changed the other spouse. They thought a sign of "making it" was of course being anywhere whites were while simultaneously ignoring other blacks around them (mental illness). This has been and still is an issue in so many black families seeking the acceptance of whites and their toys. (mental illness) There was a battle between being true to themselves or denying who they were to be accepted by the whites in their circle. One spouse directly felt obligated to assimilation because whites had given them opportunities to be promoted while ignoring the fact that they were overqualified and under-appreciated in the position they had.(mental illness/self-hate) They commonly do this to minorities, especially in the workplace. Stick us in a job we are way too educated and experienced for the dangle a position like a carrot but for a price. The price is usually some type of dirty work that whites don't want to do.(mental illness-self-hate) I had never heard of this movie until I saw it on Pluto. It was a great find.
