ARTPOP is truly an underrated masterpiece. The reason it’s so harshly criticized is because of the music that came before it. Complications during its release also caused it issues. Critiques of this album were really focused on Gaga herself rather than the actual music, which was unfair and tainted audiences. This album is filled with squelchy disco and EDM-influenced pop songs, making it bombastic throughout. The concept was reverse Warholian; instead of pop art (bringing pop culture into high art), it was ARTPOP (bringing high art into pop music). I love this album!
