I am a loyal fan of the books, and out of curiosity I’ve started watching the show. I haven’t even finished the first episode, and it’s already strayed so far from the books. I will continue to watch the show to see how this plays out, but because I haven’t even finished the book series I’ll have to find when to stop so I don’t spoil anything. The show kind of ruins the entire building up about who Clary’s father is, and the actors who play Jace and Clary just don’t seem like the right people. Alec’s character in my opinion is perfect, along with Magnus. Izzy is okay, but they’ve completely changed Luke. I get that sometimes stories need more poc, but that’s wasn’t how it was written. There are many other aspects that were changed, but I’m sure that this is enough to get my point across.
