Villeneuve crafts a surreal experience of encountering aliens. The story is classic, and the pace is fast in a slow setting making the audience hooked all time. The cinematic effects are brilliant. The most fabulous part, I would say, is the music. The music did most of job for setting the vibe and shows the psychological mindset of the protagonist. There are certain logic errors that are hard to ignore. For example, it is almost impossible for a military leader to trust the words of a foreign phone call and stop all national-level actions. How story-writers solve the conflict at the end tells his or her skill levels.
