This book was completely inappropriate for my second grader. I assumed because we ordered it from our school's Scholastic book order that it would be OK for him. I should have done my research. I had no idea it would contain such garbage such as, "Because he does terrible things! Because he only cares about himself!.....It's important to forgive, right Papa? Yeah, I guess so. But you can't just forgive everybody! Why not? Because some folks don't deserve it! Like your Grampa! Oh, I forgave Grampa a long time ago! How could you forgive that guy? He kidnapped you! He left you in a recycle bin! He's betrayed you every chance he's gotten!......Because your Grampa is a DEADBEAT!!! You can't just FORGIVE and FORGET!!! Sometimes you just gotta HATE! Hate isn't always a bad thing, ya know! It isn't? Of course not! Hate keeps things alive! Hate is a connection! Sometimes hate is all you've got left!!! But what about Love, Papa? Pffft! Love shmove!" What a waste of money. Very disappointed this is an acceptable children's book.
