Not hugely realistic at parts but a good film I don’t think an armed wife would wait to see her husband being beaten and struck in the face 5 time’s before pulling the trigger when the man was at her gun point for a reason. Nor do I think with the man dead does the wife and child present any threat and shooting them would be unnecessary. When food and water are in short supply then we can kill for them but when trust and humanity are in short supply then I think we would all fight just as hard for post apocalyptic companionship There are points when trusting someone would be wrong but not when that person has loved with you in peace for months already and proven a willingness to coexist. Good film but unrealistic.
