Really enjoyed this film and would recommend it to anyone.
The film takes place in a parallel time in which humanity has perfected cloning and are given the option to use the said clones as “replacements” for when people die prematurely, so that their families and friends have a variation of them that lives on.
The film is set out to be slow and grey which reflects the world it is set in. Sarah, our protagonist, in this reality is a boring, out of shape middle aged woman who has a long distance partner, and a mother whose calls Sarah ignores. Once Sarah learns she is dying, she commissions a “replacements”.
To avoid spoilers I won’t go any further into the film, except to say while the ending of this film is predictable, it doesn’t take away from the enjoyment of it playing out before you. The callousness of humanity, the actors and the writing were brilliant.
I would give it 7/10
