It's a nice feel good movie to watch that will have you asking some questions towards the end. But don't read into it too much. The plot is a bit far-fetched, the villain's development could use some work and the CGI is just a tad bit on the nose. For a movie based in 1984, it doesn't use 80s music or many 80s style, it doesn't play into the plot whatsoever. This movie could have been called Wonder Woman 2 and it would feel the same. Also by using the Orwellian Year of 1984, you expect for dystopian society and overpowering government but the villain and his master plan are nothing but. There are some highlights though namely the acting and the chemistry between Diana and Trevor leaves you feeling warm inside whenever they are on screen together. Overarching themes like greed and power do come up but feel cliched and not uniquely explored. It is nice to see, however, that Diana does have flaws that she overcomes spectacularly and comes to terms with. Her inability to never have what she truly ever wants presents a flawed hero we always root for and wish to see more of. Gal Gadot marvelously depicts Wonder Woman and her trophs and carries the movie from start to finish. The first third of the film does set things up quite nice and the last bits do string well together and leave the viewer feeling a bit more hopeful about the future. All in all, watch if you have nothing else to watch or for something that will over entertain but if you are looking for something to really amaze you like the first movie did? This may not be the movie for you
