Kelsey Grammer is the only professional actor on this show. The rest of the cast look like community theater rejects. Watching them act you can almost visualize the script notations, "…say line then laugh manically…" The cast is bad enough, but the scripts are even worse. Predicable plotting and punchlines make for a below-mediocre show. However, this show would make a good drinking game. Every time a viewer says the predicable punchline before the actor--take a shot of liquor. You'll get plenty drunk, but it's the only way you'll make it through an episode.

Not great, but watchable. If you didn't read the book or watch the documentary on Lady Gucci, you may not be able to follow the story. The script was a disappointment, the real-life story had great potential for theater, but because the film had no main character, the story became choppy and schizophrenic. Lady GaGa plays an unlikable character and her performance was like a good tuba player who can only play one note. Unfortunately GaGa's one-note intensity became tedious to watch. Adam Driver was much more watchable. Had the script been written using either Driver or GaGa's character as the main, it would have been a much better production. As it was, the ending was a huge let down. The most interesting part of the story was how Lady Gucci was finally caught and her subsequent trial, but none of that was in the film. The ending will leave you severely disappointed. Bottom line: save your money. It's not worth going to the movies to see. It's only a tolerable film if you don't have to pay for it.

Should be called "Pretty Stupid." First episode was not particularly good, but it was benign so I watched the second episode--which was worse because it wasn't as sweet as the pilot. In "The Big Bang Theory" when the "smart" actors have an intelligent monologue, you believe they really know what they're talking about. In Pretty Smart, when the "smart" actress gives an "intelligent" monologue it's like she's reading it from the back of a cereal box. I'm sure the actors gave it their best shot, but the plot,dialogue and ridiculous laugh-track seriously hamper their efforts.

Life vignettes gently told, some happy, some sad but all connected to the food each character orders at the diner. Brilliant writing. Each scene delivers an exactness to the story, no wasted motion, no wasted dialogue. Series writers should study the diamond-like precision of Midnight Diner to understand how to tell a quality story with beginning, middle and end in only 25 minutes. A superior production.

I enjoyed the show until the scripts got sloppy, inconsistent and just plain unbelievable. Main character Mel--can't have a baby! OMG, I'll never have a baby! I'll never be able to have a baby…etc. Then suddenly she wants to have a baby with her boyfriend and they break up because of it. Too many characters and each one has too many conflicts. Caught myself fast-forwarding through scenes I found ridiculous. Finally realized I was fast-forwarding through most of the show so I stopped watching.
