A beautiful book with superb photographs,, well worth having as an addition to my other bird books
However, as a keen Tasmanian bird watcher in the North east of Tassie,
I’d like to point out that we do have welcome swallows here, lots of them. Most people I know have them arriving in Spring to established nests in their houses and sheds.
During winter they can be seen gathering detritus from the rocks along the coast here in the North east of Tasmania.
The southern emu wren is also present here, not just on the west coast, having been seen by keen watchers, including myself, on several occasions in low scrub along the east coast.
I hope a correction can be made in the next edition to the distribution maps to show their presence here.
