This is a fantastic game in terms of simulation. Saw someone complain that wind had a huge effect on one hole and no effect on the next hole, and it was probably because he was slicing the ball into the wind without noticing, effectively cancelling out the wind. Moving on with that point, just like in real golf, your swing path on the game effects the flight path of your ball. Some people are complaining about how “little you can do” with each shot, but it’s simply not true. You can alter loft, draw/fade, and power, and changing this things (just like in real life) decreases your margin for error. Don’t expect to hit the ball 250 out of the bushes With your 3 wood—you have to play each shot essentially like you would in real life. The gameplay really is superb. If you like watching a round of golf on television and playing competitively, you’ll love this game. If you go out to the course to play and all you want to do is go hammer town on each shot and quit after 13, you probably won’t enjoy it as much. Only four stars here because there’s no Tour players, which is kind of a bummer. Nonetheless, an above par (pun intended) game that is more than worth it, especially at the price point.
