the movie itself was good, but i feel like there were multiple small things that disappointed me. for starters, zazoo is black and white! anyone who’s grown up watching the lion king knows that he should’ve been blue. besides that, i feel like a major part of the film was missing—emotion. in this version, i couldn’t quite feel the connection between all the characters (particularly nala and simba). there were so many scenes where emotion was missing from the expressions and lines. when simba is reunited with his mother, for example, neither of them seemed shocked or pleased. it was just like a regular conversation, as if it hadn’t been ten years since they had seen each other 🤷🏻‍♀️

I honestly don’t know what all of these complaints are about- I took my younger sister and her friend to watch this film and they really seemed to enjoy it. One thing I would say though is that the storyline is similar to the original so if your looking for a new story, you’ll probably be disappointed. Either than that, I really do think that the kids enjoyed this movie and I did aswell. Unfortunately, Jim Carey doesn’t voice the Grinch in this version but I didn’t find the new actor disappointing either. He was still really good! Yes, this is a great film to watch during the holiday season this year, specially if you have kids 👍🏻👍🏻
