I am truly upset by this film. It shows a cannibal Peruvian tribe in the jungle who are so cruel with some American students which are captured by them. The tribe cut up alive the students and then eat them. It is an horror film. But is totally false. There are no cannibal tribes in South America. As Peruvian I really protest against this film of Roth. It is offensive for our natives culture. Is a terrible propaganda about our country. Is totally against our tourism. And the scenes of horror are extremely exaggerating and someones are repulsive and vulgar. The excuse of Roth about making the film saying that there are gas companies that go to the jungle and destroy these tribes, so it is a call of protest is not valid. My call is to PROTEST about this ignominious film. PROTEST for the screenplay, the production, the directing and for the use of a native Peruvian tribe to collaborate with the director, to act as the most cruel cannibals. My message to the people who are reading my review: Peru is a nice country to visit, we have a lot of tourism and wonderful places as Machu Picchu, considered as one of the new seven marvels of the world.
