Filled with interesting characters, the author creates a contemporary tale with just the right amount of “old charm” appeal. Protagonist, Felice’s pragmatic narrative and sharp whit took me on an insightful journey through the workings of small-town politics with real-world challenges. Her sleuthing approach is a nice mixture of deduction and intuition. The mystery unfolded organically building at a steady pace. But it was the character developments that kept me most engaged (as they likely would in a small West Coast Town) and coming back for more. Overall, a delightful read for anyone who enjoys an old-fashioned murder mystery and perhaps fantasizes about moving to the country (despite the author’s tongue-in-cheek warnings.)
