Aquaman is its own film. It might have hints of other films, but comparing it to other MCU films is a bit reaching. This Aquaman film was refreshing, colourful and full of eye catching visual effects. I didnt have a problem with the story because it derived from the comics and played out well on screen. I have watched it twice now and I couldnt find a single flaw except for maybe the music choice. Overall, the film was enjoyable and it deserves the praise it gets. Even though the RT score is a bit unfair, it still didn't deter fans from enjoying it, especially this one. I look forward to many other DC successes. 9/10 for me.
