Very compelling film dealing with the interaction of two close sisters growing up, but seem to have drifted apart in their 20's. One remaining a 'neighborhood' girl clinging to her tight knit traditional Italian roots. The other wanting to be more upscale and live a 'Manhattan' lifestyle choosing sushi over pasta. Moving in with her yuppie boyfriend, she seems determined to forget her upbringing. However, their mother dies after battling cancer, leaving emotional scars on both. Perhaps its the guilt each one cannot escape that becomes the common denominator. Excellent film with Mira Sorvino delivering an incredible performance.
