My husband and I watched the movie New Year's Eve and it was more than either of us anticipated from the title. From the very start the story pulls you in with great characters, depictions, realities, quality music, history and a novel capture of love among people with everyday problems, society, politics and life in America. The work put into this movie puts it at the head of the class when there isn't anything in the radius of film and acting to come near its orbit. Watch for yourself and delight in the mastery, craft and brilliance of a film that has already won its acclaim. I identified with so much of the movie because of the diverse musicology, Harlem and Detroit groundwork and the situational periods which are part of my background. I can't wait to see it again to discover something more that I may have not seen or heard explicitly to quench my thirst and understanding of a true work or art!
Kudus to all who brought this to life - you should take a bow.
