Mr Paluvets

Just watched #FunnyBoy .. The casting was terrible. Except for the children in the movie, everything else about the movie is very clumsy and rushed. It seems like the director just went through her contact list on her phone and picked the cast out of it. There is nothing Tamil about the movie. If you are a Tamil, or if you know Tamil, or if you are someone with a basic understanding of the Tamil community, or even if you are someone who knows where Ceylon is on a map, you'll find #FunnyBoy to be inauthentic. I feel like the movie intentionally avoided Tamil actors. I think the director might have felt that a Tamil face might be, let's say not very appealing to her audience. It was like a white-washed Tamil story. It was terrible. I think a good story was spoilt by poor execution and casting.
