Fantasy Zone is probably one of the best shmups ever made, a perfect beginners introduction to shmups that everyone needs to play through at least once. Don't bother with the ports unless you actually own them on real hardware- the best way to play this is in the arcade, be it on real hardware or on MAME. This is one of the early games in the cute 'em up genre, although the game holds it's age very well. The graphics are bright and colorful, the music is melodic and catchy, Opa-Opa controls just as well as you could hope for, and there are copious amounts of upgrades you can buy at the beginning of levels. As for console ports, in order it goes PCE SMS Famicom everything else with the arcade still being the best bet

The king is dead, long live our new queen! Shelly Bombshell finally delivers the experience that Duke Nukem Forever promised, easily dethroning the monarch of 90's shooters with style and grace. The use of the Build engine ensures that the focus was on art and level design, and personally I think that gamble pays off. The levels are beautiful, the action is enough to make even the biggest Duke fan fall in love, Shelly Bombshell takes everything that the Duke did great and does it better. A+ game, most fun I've had with a new property in years, I'm happy to see Apogee back in business. Buy this game!
