Still love this movie after all these years. And for the record, the rpg Cyberpunk and Cyberpunk 2020, referenced by a previous reviewer as having been the base of Johnny is not entirely inaccurate. Both the movie and the rpgs were based on and influenced heavily by the same books, written (separately) by William Gibson and Walter Jon Williams. Gibson even wrote the screenplay for Johnny. This genre was just emerging, along with computer and internet accessibility and so things are really the "chicken or the egg" type of situation. There was also a computer game that came out exactly at the same time. The Matrix also was heavily influenced by Gibson's work. So, yes, how they did the rpg influenced elements within the film. But both come from the same source. Regardless, enjoy. It is a great genre film that launched a new era for sci-fi...Matrix anyone?
