Honestly, the game is fantastic; its gorgeous; the gameplay is actually amazing. The story slowly reveals itself, but its engaging. The concept of evolving biomes helps alleviate the tedium of grinding. But...it's just too hard. For a game that punishes you so badly for making a mistake, theres still far too much luck involved. You need to be lucky to spawn the best level layout. You need to be lucky to get the right weapons. You need to be lucky to get the right relics, consumables etc. You get a massive penalty for being hit once, but some enemy types you cant really engage from a distance or in close up/melee because theres too many and they fly. It's easy enough to dispatch them, but not without losing life or all your bonuses. Ugh, 16 hours in the first biome, and as much fun as I've had, I'm quitting and selling the game (jokes). Its sadistic. To all those who persevere, I commend you.
Having said all of that. When you do finally succeed, it's an amazing feeling.
