A beautifully done book. Mercer Mayer's illustrations are absolutely fantastic. Although the tale of Sleeping Beauty is widely known, Mayer adds interesting new elements from telling more of the prince's side of the story and his quest to having the evil "blue faerie" being more involved in the story than bestowing the initial curse. The story displays the just rewards for those who decide to do good as well as those who decide to use their life for evil, and Mayer has given the tale a most beautiful ending. By far my favorite retelling of sleeping beauty.
