Loftus W12

I cant give more than three stars. I enjoyed the series at first. But it is written by childish people who look at the world through modern liberal eyes, rather than try to be true to the era these people lived in. The anti British/English mantra wore me down. Puerile script writing spoils what could and should have been top pirate action. But we get this thing where pirates are turned into freedom fighters and made out to be monk like with their outlook on life. You would think watching it that pirates were all good people just wanting a better life, not the murderers of innocent people they actually where. I had no real affection for any of the characters in this series. Usually with a series you root for someone. In this I didn't care about any of them not even John Silver. Too much modern liberal nonsense in the series to truly rate it as a top show. More actual pirating would have been better. It starts off like that then turns into political rubbish. And what is it with script writers, they make the British to be incompetent militarily, when we all know they most certainly were not. Good at first then sails fall off.

This is a good low budget survival film. Based on a true story. Please do not expect anything like castaway, that had a massive budget. The cast , crew, and director have done a very good job with this film. Gives a good sense of how it would feel being lost at sea for so long, and the battles that come with that. Thirst, hunger, storms, rough seas, and mental and physical trauma. 7/10
