Acting ✅ Costume Design ✅ Hair and make-up ✅ Script ✅ Cinematography ✅ Lighting ✅ Accuracy ❌. Nonetheless, I still recommend this film for its quality and the aforementioned things I approve on. Of course this is not a perfect preference for someone relatively unknown of the life Mary Queen of Scots. Ronan is superb, Margot Robbie delivered so well and Jack Lowden is promising. But one thing that seems to be forced in this film is the diversity. There is a "forced diversity" and filled with too much politics as it includes a black man who is a lord (that is hilarious and brow raising), no racism, no whitewashing, just the truth and fact, David Rizzio is portrayed a homosexual as well as Lord Darnley (another brow raising thing), Bess is played by an Asian actress (Gemma Chan), I guess there is just too much politics going on in this film. There is no need for a forced diversity to compromise the accuracy of the film esp it is based on a famous historical figure. Nevertheless, this is a great film of great acting, cinematography, make-up, costume, etc., I just wish that next time they create a period film about Mary, Queen of Scots, it better be accurate.
