I was honestly looking forward to this movie, thought it's gonna be a funny and cute Christmas movie. Boy was i wrong cause It's neither cute nor funny.
I tried watching half of it today. I really tried i promise. Jennifer Garner and Ed Helms are my absolute favs but even they cant save this movie.
Upon seeing the trailer, i know handling switches between teenagers and adults bodies is gonna be tough, so i'll go easy on them on this part. But for most of the time, the writing for characters is so inconsistent and i often feel like the actors only acting out the characters but not being the characters.
Now, if historians order a documentary from Netflix to show what "cringe" was to future generations, this movie will definitely win an oscar. I'm surprised that after all the jokes being made about how Netflix producers and screenwriters perceive high schools, teens, ... or basic human dialogues and interactions, they still haven't learned wnything, which sometimes makes the interactions between characters unbearable and weird. This also ties to another huge huge peeve, the humour in this movie!!!!!! Try hard but so so bland.
I avoid leaving bad reviews, but this time, about this one, please take my words and do not hit play.
