Great game! One of the best movie-licensed games I've played. It has great graphics, awesome electronic and heavy metal music, and also has some complex mechanics. It was made by Yuke's, the original developers of the WWE 2K games, so you know it's gonna be good.
You play in 1 versus 1 fights, you can fight up to 5 rounds, you can repair your robot's parts in the fight (yellow is some damage, orange is severe damage, and red is when the part is broken off), and you can even taunt robots with the D-pad. You can do light attacks with the buttons on the right of your Xbox or PlayStation controller and you can do heavy attacks with both the buttons on the right and LB/RB/L1/R2.
The main purpose of the game is to create your own robot and work your way from the first 3 Underworld stages and all the way up to the last 2 World Robot Boxing/WRB stages. Each tier of the story mode consists 5 fights each including 3 regular fights, 1 pre-boss and 1 boss. It gets harder and harder of course. You can repair your bot and the price will go higher depending on how much damage your robot took.
In the multiplayer mode, you can play as fan-favorite robots from the movie including Atom, Noisy Boy, Midas, Metro, Zeus, and Twin Cities. You can also play as your custom built robots (you can make up to 8 robots), the story mode robots too (DLC robots), and Ambush (DLC). You have to beat Twin Cities to unlock him and to unlock Zeus you have to beat Zeus, the final boss of the game.
There's a lot of customization too. You can customize your robot's legs, arms, fists, head, torso, core and moves. You can also change different colors of a part and even give it cool patterns like stripes or flames. The robots have weight so when you use certain parts, it might say "weight overload" or "energy overload." You can unlock more parts for purchase (with in-game money) by really just making progress in the story mode. You could also just buy parts
Online multiplayer is in the game too which you can voice chat. However, there's almost nobody online to play with. If that happens to you, I highly suggest you just play the game in the multiplayer mode with a family member or a friend.
I give this game a 5/5 star rating. I hope my review helps summarize how the game should play. If you've never played it then you'll probably have to download the game online and play it with an emulator on a high-end computer since the game is delisted from PlayStation Network and the Xbox 360 store. If you have the game on a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 then you could play on there of course.
