Kathryn Flett in 'The Mail' TV Guide gave the new 'Rebus' one star and stated it was violent, bleak and poorly written by Greg Burke. I strongly disagree with her. The series is excellent and the acting is very good. Flett stated there is no morality or human feeling, especially from Rebus, so why did the Rebus brothers come to the aid of a down and out ex-soldier? As for the bleakness of the series, I felt there are many funny gags and comments from the actors if you aren't totally wokerised and understand dark humour. Finally, Richard Rankin is great in the role and the rest of the cast are fine. Some people need to realise that what happens in Rebus is reality in many major British cities - it may not be pleasant, but it's fact.

I've just watched this series on BBC iplayer and felt it was brilliant, engrossing and full of suspense. The acting was great too. I strongly recommend this show.

This is a superb, atmospheric series - the sort of show you never want to end. A big moment was the death of Ciro. He had real presence. Foreign, sub-titled series mean we can see superb global programmes, not just American and British. I recommend 'The Bridge', 'Braquo', the Stig Larssen trilogy, 'Greyzone', 'Wallander' and 'Babylon Berlin', but my favourite is Gomorra. More please.
