A bit tedious and stereotypical and only developed character is Maria. I then reflected on whether Steven was using Maria and David to play out a story so he'd move past writers block. And that is the story. Ending? I'd like to think he went with a happy one as Maria's smiling as she's walking. David left to find love in the rain. If all this was intended I like it much more.

A small film with a giant heart. Incredible acting from star studded cast. Ultimately uplifting but shines a light on Southern hostility towards homosexuality in the 1970s. Very timely in this current divisiveness in our country. Watch it!
