Underrated movie. It has a necessary slow pace that serves the story and the suspense. Impatient viewers should keep to their shallow assassin and super hero movies. If you love great acting, a plot that develops in unexpected ways, beautiful scenery, shocking drama in betrayal and the depiction of inner strength in a realistic setting this movie is for you. The sexually explicit and brutal torture scenes are done in a tasteful way without sensationalism or glorification, in a very matter of fact way - depicting a sense of realism instead of gratuitous sadism. this makes the scenes even more impactful. The main character develops scene by scene and the script plays with your mind. The second half of the movie is refreshingly non-cliche. Social media and mainstream media reviews are tainted by ideological agendas and shallow spot judgements. If you appreciate the art of film making you will probably enjoy this movie.
