We watched it in 3d and most of it was very clear and 3 dimensional looking. We loved the books and the movie is very close to the books. We took people who weren't familiar with the books and they also thought it was amazing to watch. Nothing in the movie was gimmick marketing too sell merchant. Plus, this movie had no b.s. Yes, you know what I mean. I'll leave it at that. Go see it.

One of the greatest movies ever made. Great dialogue. Great cast. Perfectly filmed. The only negative criticism of the movie is it could have been done without knowing who the father was. Knowing who the father is is just forced and silly. I just skip it.

Fantastic movie. Sure, it's an art piece and 3 hours long but I loved every second of it. My favorite period in history. Can't wait for Chapter 2 to wrap up all the stories going on. Edit: I did not know this was a 4 part series. I'm over the moonshine with that information. If these movies are the final 4 nails being hammered into the pinewood coffin of the Western genre, they are some mighty fine nails.

Aside from a couple of moments (eg. the zipline scene, lack of focus on the race, language, acting, shakey cam), it's a good movie. Mark Wahlberg needs to stop over acting and doing his nervous talking acting.

As people keep calling this a Christian movie, it's not. As an atheist, I can say this movie is not preachy nor does the religious parts bother me. While there are a few moments about Christianity, it's not the central point of the movie. The central point is child trafficking and child abuse and how it's a billion-dollar industry. The guy does look to his god, but as an atheist, you can just say this guy is looking within himself to be a good person. Some of the acting is a little over the top. There could have been more action at the climatic scenics but I understand they didn't want it to be the central point of the movie. I highly recommend you watch this movie. It will make you feel something and hopefully, shine a light on the horrible reality of child abuse and trafficking.

Being an anti-theist and atheist, I thought the reaction about this movie was over-the-top. So, I watched it. Well, I tried to watch it and it literally mocks the Christian faith. Now, I don't mind calling out stuff in the bible for being absurd but I would never mock them. The creator of this movie intentionally tried to upset Christians. This is not okay as it's not okay to mock other faiths. Terrible acting. Terrible story. Just plain terrible.

I love this show. It's a decent family show that isn't sugar coated with "I value your opinion and validate your feelings" nonsense. While the story is pulled in many directions trying to follow eight kids, two parents, and one girlfriend, it's still an enjoyable show. I believe they are trying to create character depth quick enough without being boring and without losing interest. I would love to see how this develops over many seasons. All the kids are likeable and believable, even Frank.
