The story is self-conflicted, controversial, and unrealistic. The ending of the finale is unexpected. But such is life. Don't take it so seriously and treat it just as a show and some lives out there. It is certainly not a norm but an outlier. Then you should be okay watching it and enjoy a fantasy with its ups and downs.
