While only more suitable for adult viewing, the emotions generated within the film and the ending with First Nations people's personal accounts bring home the reality of the failed government mandated education philosophy. Residential school admissions for First Nations people in Canada did not cease until 1996. We may have moved on from the people who committed heinous crimes decades ago to truth and reconciliation discussions. Nothing will make up for the loss by murder of innocent children, their forced separation from families, racism, sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, directed by church members from the outset.
