7.5/10 definitely can't judge this on stars... Speaking of stars we need more Daniel(Tony Todd's Candyman) in the film overall. The subtle way the Candyman "poltergeist 3's" his victims in the film is very well executed, as are the victims(in spectacular fashion) only caveat was all of them were of the same nationality, which can be taken any number of ways, one of the benefits of the 92 film was how well it utilities social commentary without beating you over the head with it. The film overall was almost like an orchestra writing was done very well. Jordan Peele is definitely an untapped horror prodigy who needs more to work with. Nia Decosta brought the same intensity to the screen that Clive Barker brought to the very pages of 'the forbidden' with many adaptations madein the last 30+ years since it's publication... Lastly as a horror/slasher fan .. the fact the film doesn't retcon the direct to video sequels while expanding very fairly on the mythos we as fans have come to expect from such a classy fellow...if you can get past the bees and giant hook.😅
