I binged watched it over two days of being ill. Not the best idea. I didn't find it slow, I find our movies too fast. Gillian was perfect in this role as cold and calculating but we know from the start there are issues with her. In the end, I don't feel her "trauma" matched her deep issues esp when she describes her symptoms to the 16yo. I liked it however. It could have only ended the way it did. It had to wrap up except for his wife - I wish they had showed us more after "the event." Don't want to spoil other for anyone.
