Tonight (March 1st 2021) Katie Pavlich, at the conclusion of The Five, gave a human (canine?) interest story about her dog and how he "was laying" on a bag of snacks during a trip.
I think all of the participants of The Five are college graduates. Don't they know the difference between lying and laying? Someone lies on the floor - it is an intransitive verb. Someone lays the carpet on the floor - it is a transitive verb.
Recently the commentators - were they Fox? - tried to popularize the past tense of "sneak" as "snuck."
When are we going to start using "it don't" around here?
