The Story Of holes was a good book that taught many lessons, and like most stories, this story has a happy ending, the story is about a boy named, Stanley and some inmates of his like X-ray, Zigzag, Squid and Zero, the warden and Mr. Pendanski (Pen-dance-key). My personal favorite is the warden because she shows that females can also be in charge and fierce, throughout the story there was some foreshadowing upon the topic of the yellow-spotted lizard and the history of Camp Green Lake. The simple version of the story is that Stanley who was caught for something he didn't do and send to Camp Green Lake(A Juvenile Camp), he made friends but had a difficult time digging holes(What the people at the court says "Builds Character") which caused trouble with the warden. Zero ran away into the desert around Camp Green Lake, he followed and then found a suitcase(in the middle of the desert, when they, Zero and Stanley, were about to die) which had his name on it (Because that was his grandfather's, who had the same name as him) and that made him rich as in 1 million dollars richer (He was poor before). It was a good book. I like the part when he came home richer because who doesn't like a happy ending? I don't like that the warden scratched the person that greeted Stanley. If I was to recommend this book, I would recommend this book to my friends, and my cousins. I would give this book 5 stars.
