They did the series justice! There were some minor details that got added or removed that i did notice but thats to be expected as they cant add EVERYTHING the OG series had in it without the CGI looking terrible. but im assuming that was Oda's call since he was one of the producers for this show. The characters were pretty spot on how they are in the animated series. Sanji was exactly as how he is in the anime, Luffy wasnt SPOT on but would be kind of hard to find someone with that iconic laugh/BIG grin we fans all know & love. His sense of humor was also a bit dry compared to the anime series but other than that the scenes where he was fiercely protecting his friends was SPOT ON how Luffy was in the manga and anime series. Zorro's character was DEAD on accurate to the anime version. From him getting lost, heckling Sanji, constantly sleeping, being called 'moss-head', his backstory, him protecting his swords, and his funny drinking habits. Nami was also a dead ringer to the OG version, down to her being a thief, blowing Sanji off, teasing the boys, and her backstory. Usopp was probably the BEST version done though. down to his quirkiness, his stories, 'exploding star' (chuckles), and him constantly hiding in the fight scenes. Mihawk was probably the second best version redone, close to being first. Down to his aloof attitude, quiet & calm demeanor, even his voice sounds scary close to the English dubbed version in the Anime. Buggy as well was done very well, even his special abilities with the CGI were actually done VERY well. Their backstories were also all done extremely well, minus some inconsistencies with the Kaya storyline. There are some blips in the storyline but thats to be expected as they cant recreate EVERYTHING from the OG series as it would look completely fake/wrong. Such as Arlong and some of his crew members. BUT as far as live action adaptations go, this is by FAR the most well done series that has been created from a manga/anime. They did the OG series justice and i cant WAIT for the next arc in ssn 2! WELL DONE Netflix! *applauds*
