Terrible movie.. do not understand the other reviews. Not just the story and screenplay, but even the dialogues are too predictable and boring.
Trisha hardly emotes, the camera angles are from the 1970s and dialogues seem to be penned by a 10 year old who is fond of copy paste. Vijay Sethupathi tries hard to lift the entire movie with his subtle acting and timing, but the screenplay dismisses his efforts. Nostalgia is a vivid and complex emotion, but the director seemed determined to paint it as one dimensional.
Overall, the movie seems to be confusedly caught between some tear jerker korean movie that is desperately trying to insert French inspirations. Tamil cinema, which is at a historically low point, deserves much better to salvage any kind of respect. Not a movie for the current society or times. Waste of time and a crime to a tub of popcorn.
