This lacks all the heart and the subtlety of the original. For example it lacks the tension, the interpersonal relationships are in your face rather than building over the course of the film, the original caper developed into farce as a result of the agency of the lady but in this it was a farce throughout and completely removed the agency of the lady. Even watching it as a comedy movie in its own right, it is excruciating to watch. The humour is telegraphed, the characters are ridiculously exaggerated, the writing is amateurish and the whole thing feels at once both rushed and too bloody long. Rather than act the characters’ relationships, we are fed pithy flashbacks as if the moviemakers don’t trust us to use our brains. Total waste of time. Seriously overrated on here. This from a lover of many of their other works. This must be their worst movie.
