I like to watch Anything Tyler Perry makes. HOWEVER, as I excitedly started watching this series I was shocked from the first scenes... 8 yrs of the Classy Obama’s and then to watch this family?!?! It’s almost like we were being punk’d. In my mind, through his movies/shows Tyler Perry gives us an idea of how “real” things are. It’s not a good look, it encourages people to stereotype and think that this is how the African American culture is. Not speaking of the acting at all, but that they display rudeness, are conniving, so disrespectful and violent to name a few makes it seem that this is real. If it is, it’s shocking and sad. I really wanted to watch, but after a few episodes I decided I didn’t want to have this image of the African American race and stopped watching :(
