Bridgerton is an unsubstance script that only keeps one attention if one is bored in lockdown. Narrative, one dimensional , cliche'characters and sadly, very poor costuming. Ah, yes, the Duke and main female character are excellent actors and have real chemistry. Maybe, that is why this show is getting great ratings. in the days of few relationships, we actually believe these two. This show does not have the riveting excitement of the soap opera style of the Netflix's show, " Reign.' - pure excitement, intrigue,betrayl, sex , roman ce and suspense. Nor does it have a historic story line with beautiful costumes like Versailles, nor a great script. I would say the only great thing, is the performances by the two leads. Great to see the handsome duke, but the story line has so few seconds and third story lines between the main story, that it drags with the life long quest for the main characters to secure getting married ! thats it! The only the gorgeous Duke was worth looking at.. and that in itself may keep the female audience watching.l NETFLEX :Bring back the great shows like Reign where you love and hate characters. OR Poldark, where one cheers for the underdog or the great House of Cards. IF this show is getting so many great ratings, then the audience must be so bored during lockdown, they have nothing else to watch. HMMM.
