Vince Gray – Google

Judging by other reviews here, a lot of things musta went over my head with this movie. It wasn’t good, but to be fair, I’m measuring it up against the Juggernaut GET OUT, which was stupendous. Even the “not so good” movie US was better than this. But THIS is the first movie, in a while, Jordan actually Directed and wrote HIMSELF…..which is bad…..because THIS movie is bad. There’s a connection to a monkey that’s never explained, an alien that looks like a spaceship, then transformed into a giant parachute, that ate horses, then later people. I was waiting for a connection between the monkey and the aliens, but nothing came. This wasn’t a good movie, I could’ve saved my money, it didn’t even explain WHY aliens were there in the first place….unless I missed it. It also didn’t explain why the alien ship transformed into a parachute. Very unfortunate, it just wasn’t good. Don’t go into expecting anything, and you might like it, I didn’t, but you might.

It was a satisfying movie, I feel like a lot of musical bio movies leave a lot of stuff out, and so does this movie. I guess you’d need more time to cover everything a superstar artist has gone through in their entire music career, but movie after movie I feel important details are left out. For instance, who first introduced Elton to drugs? What made him turn to drugs in the first place? I know it was the 70’s, but was there a big event that happened, or was drugs just the cool thing to do? What about the music business side? Did he sign a great contract, if he did, he’s the first. How much was his first check, once he started making money? I wanted to see his reaction when he first saw his music on the charts? His partner wrote the lyrics, so that means his partner made more money off the music than Elton did. Did they agree to split all the money 50/50? Why didn’t the movie show Elton’s shopping habits? Did he blow money on cars, houses? His mother had the same house even after Elton started making money, he didn’t buy her a new house? I thought Bohemian rhapsody was a better movie, it was based more in reality, they didn’t walk down the street and all of a sudden a “Thriller” dance video break out, all that was missing was Micheal. Elton is a legend, don’t think this movie covered all of his greatness.

Do yourself a favor, and ignore the negative reviews. I’m trying to decide if this was better than 2014 Godzilla, um, it’s really close. One complaint people had with the 2014 movie was there wasn’t enough action, this movie delivers on the action in spades! Loved how they revealed each monster, like Rodan rising out of the volcano was epic!! I’ll be seeing this movie again! Fans of Godzilla know this isn’t The Godfather for crying out loud, so get your ticket, popcorn and drink, plus a snack and enjoy.
