"At present the trees of the Amazon take in a quarter of all the carbon absorbed by the planet's forests each year." Page 76
"Globally, deforestation accounts for about 12 % of carbon emissions, and forest fires produces as much as 25%. " page 77
From the Uninhabitable Earth: Life After Warming by David Wallace-Wells
I am wondering how much of trees of Amazon are burning at this right moment? At this moment, the moment i am reading this book Amazon is burning, the world is going down, the ices are melting, warming is going up, rate of unabsorbed carbon is going up. The time to see uninhabitable earth is approaching, though there will be no one to witness it.
I am very thankful for the writer has made it clear that we no longer deserve to live here or elsewhere.
