For the storyline, I get that some folks are sensitive to the subject matter, but the fact is, people can be very flawed. It wouldn't be much of a story if everything was just fine. I never felt like they were condoning the darker topics, but that was just part of the messed up story. It was juicy. Like Game of Thrones (maybe not that juicy). I was seriously loving how creepy it was as well.
For the game play, I truly felt that there should have been a way to walk faster or run. Maybe there is on different versions, but I played the Switch version. It did say "press L to run" after I heard a loud noise, but nothing happened when I did that 🤷🏼♀️While the torch kinda added to the creepy factor, I wish it would've just stayed on like a flash light to make it easier to get around. My last complaint is that I would have liked the map to show where you were instead of just opening it and seeing like, oh, it's a map. Some stuff, like the mezzanine was hard for me to locate. The hotel was rather maze like and it wasn't laid out like you'd imagine any place of that sort to be.
Overall, great game.
