Rapper turned philanthropist, Robert Matthew Van Winkle, more commonly known as Vanilla Ice, spends much of his valuable time helping out with building projects of the Schlabach family as well as their day to day lives. Much like the plot of the 1985 cult classic, Cannibal Holocaust, a film crew goes to an isolated distant land, in this case, Ohio, to film their interactions with peoples whose civilizations act as time capsules to lifestyles the rest of the world has mostly forgotten about and grown out of. Unlike in Cannibal Holocaust, Professor Van Winkle does not brutally murder a sea turtle which makes Vanilla Ice Goes Amish a much more family-friendly choice for someone looking for the classic genre of exploitation flicks.
