Marsha Bailey

This series was ver lovingly done, by Dyan and Jennifer, who knew Cary and loved him very much. They did not sugar coat his flaws, the things that led to so many marital failures, but they did put them in the context of a very tough upbringing. It is amazing that Cary survived it and evolved into a loving caring father for Jennifer. Great acting by the entire ensemble, with special kudos to the actors who played Cary, and Elsie. Those had to be difficult roles to fill, but they did so with great sensitivity and respect. A great tribute to an exceptional actor. There's nothing like seeing someone who is so beautiful be so incredibly funny.

This film tells it like it is, the racist government trying to silence an open critic in Billi Holiday. Solid performances by all principals, at time the rawness is hard to watch. Gorgeous costumes on a damaged woman who is, nonetheless, incredibly brave. Charismatic. The perfect version of Billies story for a period such as this.
