My 13 year old granddaughter read this first, and as always passed the book on to me. The books she pick often include a snapshot of a girl living in another culture, as this one does.. The book was a joyful straight-through read for me. The chapters are filled with colourful caring relationships, real-life characters and drama that pose questions and give the book movement. My granddaughter is known to prefer books that are full of struggle and over-coming. This book wants you to sing out 'power!" to all the brave girls in this world who need a voice. .
